Cleaning the car, it's a bit grubby. I'll give it a coat of polish too, it should protect the paint a bit during the upcoming winter. I've vacuumed the inside and given the seats a wipe over with a leather cleaner.

It's been a lovely, sunny afternoon. I cleaned out my hen house this morning, a job which was long overdue, and this afternoon I've been strimming and mowing the grass which has got out of control over the last few weeks. I've not quite finished, but if it turns out nice again tomorrow, I might get it finished.
I'm tired out!

Mine shows fog until 09:00 as well Wendy but at the moment it is just low overcast, it hasn't touched down yet!
I shall be in the shed for an hour early doors and then another quiet day to let the slight side effects of the jabs to wear off....

This morning I changed over to a freshly honed HSS cutter for better finish and turned the leg I have been working on down to finished dimensions and polish. Then I cleaned my chips up, that includes the floor. Next I set up for cutting the other leg out and finished up ready for a clean start tomorrow morning..... Now I am after my breakfast.....

It was a beautiful day yesterday with more forecast today, but like Wendy we have morning fog. From the bedroom window I can see feathery clouds and blue sky but nothing at ground level. I can’t see the hills the trees or down towards Rochdale.

We spent the morning giving the house a thorough clean through, having lost our cleaner of 10 years as she has moved away. This afternoon I tidied one border of the back garden which makes two main borders tidy and ready fo manure when the little Irish man arrives with his sacks, which is usually the end of October. The brown bin is now full so can’t do much more for the time being but can fill the three buckets that reside in the greenhouse for random weeding. I am sure, Wendy that all your outdoor activity will do you the world of good , both from the fresh air point of view and getting a bit tidier. Its nice to hear that you are doing ok.

This morning I shall strip the bedding and wash it, hopefully it will quickly dry on the line and will be ready to iron later on. Looks like Bob may have a busy day at the park but I will keep myself occupied with ironing, gardening, sewing and a bit of french grammar. Have a good day all

morning Sue.... Glad you had a good day yesterday and I hope it all works out for you today. At least you managed to post without losing your work.
I am doing a wash also and if it brightens up I will hang the corduroy trousers outside otherwise they can go over the bannisters!

I shall try to make the day a normal day so I'll start with an hour in the shed working on the final leg of shaft number two.

This morning I was straight into removing the excess metal from this leg of crankshaft number two. That was it, full face mask on and 50 thou cuts until the shaft was just north of half and inch which is the target. Now it needs to cool down as does the swarf! Tomorrow morning I will swap over to my HSS cutter and do the final turning and polishing to this leg. But at the moment you know where my mind is.....

from my point of view the best, however she has moved to Thrornon in Cleveleys. She has kept coming for some time but has developed an eye problem so can’t drive in the dark. We shall miss her . She was more than a cleaner but also a friend and invaluable when we were away in the summer as she used to check the house and feed the fish.

Do I take it that your fog stayed. We had a beautiful day here yesterday, warm and very sunny. This morning is foggy again. I have to go to Haslingden for french and drive over Owd Betts so much care will be needed . I have no plans for the afternoon but have yoga this evening. Have a good day all

Morning Sue. The fog lifted but the overcast never broke. If there was any sun, I missed it! Today looks exactly the same so far.... What I'd call November weather.

I shall be in the shed first thing finishing and polishing my second crankshaft and cleaning the chips up from the floor and Mrs Harrison. We are promised a dry but heavily overcast day like yesterday so I shall very likely have a short walk, not too sure about sitting on traffic duty though.....

This morning I started by getting all the nasty swarf off Mrs Harrison and most of it off the floor as well. Then I put the HSS cutter on and took the last very careful cuts to finish the second leg on the second shaft. We are making progress, two down and two to go. I deserve my breakfast!

A cloudy day yesterday with more today. It was thick fog when I drove over Owd Betts but brighter on the Rawtenstall side. It was even sunny when I left there but continued to be cloudy here. At home Bob had been busy as the little Irish man had arrived with the garden manure. I thought he would come this week. Bob supervised the spreading of 18 bags of mixed manure and top soil and the man and his son spread it. Its all very efficient. It makes the garden look incredibly neat and tidy…. In the afternoon I planted Spring bulbs in the front garden , completing its redesign. The fast growing, large perennials have now gone and been replaced with slow growing hardy fuchsias, small flowering shrubs, roses and Spring bulbs.

Today we have our Covid jab at the local pharmacist on Whitworth Road. We shall then walk into Rochdale to the bank and complete the circuit home. In effect we are doing a clockwise version of our normal anticlockwise one. This afternoon I shall have a steroid injection in my thumb at the surgery. Bob will take me in case I can’t drive back, so no pilates and yoga this evening. Thats it. Have a good day all

Good look with the jabs, the after-effects of mine are wearing off now and they weren't severe....
