Stanley, are you still using your shopping buggy on wheels when you shop now? Great aren’t they.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

This morning has been a pain. The steam chest lid is chilled and pot hard, none of my cutters will touch it, I have destroyed three.... So I have had to do the best I can on the grinding wheel. It's acceptable but only just. They won't see it off the Ribble!

Morning

Well we had a really yukky day yesterday , what a good job I was busy. I gave the house a really good clean apart from washing the floors which I will do today. A pilates friend called round after lunch for a chat and to sign Tairas birthday card and give me her contribution to the present. Taira will be 50 in a couple of weeks so I have organised a secret collection. She is a very well loved teacher .

After Karin left I got on with finishing the trousers for my suit. I just have a few bits to finish and everything will be ready for my session with Maxine on Wednesday. I will be doing that today after washing the floors and doing the ironing.

It is due to rain all day but at the moment we have a hint of blue sky. Bob will probably still go to the park as they now have some new young members ( 16 to mid 20 s) who are keen to meet up whatever the weather. Have a good day all

Morning Sue! Nice to hear Bob has youngsters helping at the park.... It's very gloomy wet and cold here. It rained as I went to the Co-op for my milk and it was cold. I had another surprise, I found a big plump chicken roast in the bag, in the cabinet for sell-by date sales. It was dirt cheap at $4 so I bought it and I'm cooking it now. So the kitchen is as warm as toast and I'll have a chicken to pick on. I might survive the day!

One of the guys I work with has a neuro diverse son, he's 8 years old and loves trains. There is a model railway he goes to regularly (it looks similar to what your Bob is involved with) and a few weeks ago they were carrying out track repairs, they let him help with a bit of 'spannering' and he was well made up :good:

That sounds good, and the same sort of track. A couple of these younger members have been coming with parents for a bit before they joined in their own right and helping when they could. There is always a lot of maintenance to do . Its good to get young blood.

A small but accurate step. Clearance holes for the long studs that will retain the steam chest on the cylinder. I now look forward to breakfast and second sleep.

Morning

Its going to be a dull but dry day today. I have French at Haslingden this morning. This afternoon i shall finish the last of my sewing for Wednesday, this evening I have yoga. Thats it. However I may abandon the sewing in favour of planting my Spring bulbs, as I need to get them into pots sooner rather than later. Have a good day all

Yes Sue, we have at least a bright sunny day. Could be the last one for a while, the outlook isn't good!
I shall be in the shed early doors working on castings, This morning It will be long studs fixed to cylinder casting I think. Not sure about the rest of the day but quite possible we could have a walk on the cards. It will be cold but bright and I have my new Norwegian Fleece which is very light and warm.....

The task this morning was to mark, drill and tap the holes in the valve face of the cylinder that take the long studs that hold the steam chest assembly on the cylinder casting. There are six but the one that is missing is because for some unexplained reason the threads are slightly oversize so the stud will be held in place with Loctite shaft fit. That done I went looking for my breakfast.

Morning

A very cold clear morning, following a similar day yesterday. Bob cleared the leaves whilst I carried on with my sewing. With much relief I realised that my lesson with Maxine is not tomorrow but next Wednesday. As happens sometimes I have had to redo several times the basic task of putting a waist band on trousers. Each time something simple went wrong. The more I redid it the bigger mess I got into. I have at last nearly solved it but will take advantage of todays dry, if cold, day to plant my bulbs and have a rest from sewing. Otherwise today I have pilates and yoga at the studio this evening. Have a good day all

Morning Sue! I have just come down after second sleep. For the second day on the run I have had a slightly better sleep pattern but for some reason it starts by me going to bed even earlier and sleeping later. I am not complaining, anything is better than what was happening earlier in the week...
If you get the same weather as us here in Barlick I think you will have a good day. It's going to be clear here but part of the price we will pay is a constant northerly wind leading to a very cold night tonight..... Having a rest from sewing for a day sounds like a good idea. I find that a day without shed can be very refreshing at times.... We aren't on piece work! :biggrin2:

I shall be in the shed first thing and today I have to look at the front and back lids on the cylinder.
After breakfast and second sleep I shall be looking after myself and hoping to continue to make slow progress on my sleep patterns which are still chaotic.

Morning

It was a beautiful day yesterday. I wrapped up warm and did some gardening, giving the fuchsias and the roses a light winter prune and then planting up my pots of bulbs. I spread the last bag of manure in the areas where I grow veg and Bob swept up the leaves in the front garden so everything is now nice and tidy for the coming months . In the afternoon I did finish the waistband of my trousers so apart from buttons, which I haven’t bought yet, my suit is finished.

This morning we are doing our weekly walk down to the bank before it rains this afternoon, then I think this afternoon I want to make a small embroidered coaster for Tairas 50 th on the embroidery part of my machine. I have online pilates this evening. Have a good day all.

A local tree surgeon is coming to cut my overgrown hedge back today. It will be a relief to get it done, it's a job that Col and I hadn't got round to for a few years. It's not going to be an easy job, especially as the field side is already very wet.

I am back in the world again, freshly showered and in clean clothes. I have a quick 40degree load going in the washing machine and two messages on my screen.
Sue, Morning! I'm glad you had a good day. We are dry in Barlick until this afternoon and I hope this means you get your bank walk in before it rains.
Wendy, hard luck with your tree surgeon! I hope he makes a good job for you tomorrow. It's such a lousy time of the year for outdoor work like that.
Now I shall enjoy a hot mug of tea and decide what, if anything, needs to be done beyond taking some dry laundry off the kitchen rack and putting it away....
There#s always something grinning at you! ( In this case it's getting shouted at by Gloria.... :laugh5:)
