I remember this road from journeys around Scotland back in the 1960s. I can't tell you where it is but there is an optical illusion which suggests that you are going up hill when you are actually going down.

Looks like a flywheel on an electric generator possibly diesel driven. looks like it could drive some ancillary equipment using a large flat belt ?

Looks like the flywheel at Queen Street Mill. Direct drive on to the lineshaft.
