Rememberance Day is a bit of a modern thing - but I dont like marking the Solstice Holidays until it is past. Advent Sunday is 30th November thus just three weeks away before we get into Carol Singing Season

I always listen to farming Today at 05:45 and this morning we were treated to gloomy forecasts of what the effects of Bird Flu would have on the Xmas Trade,
I say 'would' because there actually isn't any current live infection just lock down. Most Xmas Turkeys will be slaughtered in the next fortnight. Those for the freezer trade are already safe!

I've tried to force this to post as 2025 but it keeps reverting to 2013. Can somebody who knows what they are doing alter this please?

I think I've done it. Subsequent posts should show 2025 in the title though previous ones remain the same.

I wonder what happened to all the posts from the period 2013 to 2025?

This morning I saw Stanley mentioning it reverting to 2013 each time he tried to post and then Wendy saying it was now OK. I entered `Lights in the sky' in the search box and the results showed about 6 recent posts then the remainder appeared to be all 2013 which is why I queried it. I've just done the search again and it's now showing 2025!

Is there a problem? Stanley wanted the topic title changed to 2025 as he had failed to do it. Changing the title of the topic only changes the subject title in each post from the point a change is made. So all posts before today's are still saying 2013. Nothing is lost!

2013 was when the OGFB forums had to be remade following one of those events that meant any back up restoration could not be made as such - leading to the archived bits that are still searchable , but need for a restart on new topics thus the 2013 was added to those topics to distinquish the new starting point. no one ever incremented for dates in a lot of the forum titles - indeed would it be worth it , and thus 2013 was not a locked in year forever to be referenced but a starting reference point

I feel better now I have a topic dated 2025.
Perhaps the better course would be to alter the title by omitting the year altogether and just calling it Lights in the Sky?

No problem now Wendy. I was simply explaining why I'd first posted when I did encounter something strange but that now it looked OK.

Three Weeks to the Winter Solstice and the lack of the big light at a reasonable hour like 4 pm is noticeable.
Living in Otley The Chevin altered both the weather , and the daylight around. South London has more six plus storey mansion blocks in Zone 4 (considered "Urban" living) blocking out more sun from the south with winter's icy pavements a cert for the future.
LED lights may be all the thing but their lack of warmth and light lumen range and wavelengths mean a cold experience. What did we do before Ediswan ?

December has crept up on me this year. Perhaps because I never thought I could get this far. I was talking to one of the ladies in the Co-op yesterday and she said she used to work for the retail chain Next and she once saw Xmas enter the sales language there in September so I suppose we should be grateful.......

Ha ha, you did it with the seasons so why not do away with the years as well. Easy enough to do just like a stroke of the pen. :extrawink:

I've asked AI how to do it (again). You change the subject title in the very first post, which should change the topic title and all posts after this one. Here goes!
