Hard luck Sue, you seem to be getting more than your fair share of colds.... I hope it clears up soon.
I shall be in the shed first thing and will roast my chicken today. Once again I had a good sleep last night but I'm running early. I shan't worry about that, just take the sleep while it is there!

I had finished the site and was back in bed again at 02:00. I had almost 2 hours sleep and now I am back downstairs with a pot of coffee. I shall have some of that and then put my chicken in the oven. Bitty I know but I'm getting my jobs done and squeezing the maximum sleep in!
Later at 04:45..... My chicken is in the oven and I am seriously considering declining the shed. .....

Morning

Yes the second one in a month Stanley. This one is just a runny nose and mild congestion , I only had a hint of a sore throat on Saturday evening. I am up in the kitchen with a cuppa as I cannot sleep, and am feeling bored. I have finished one book on my kindle and started another but sleep evaded me .

Today will be another quiet day in, maybe a walk to the nearer post office to return an item to Amazon. I will see how I feel later with regards to pilates and yoga this evening

Its due to be a cool dry day . Have a good day all

Morning Sue!

Tell me about it Sue, I am going through a phase of the same thing. I think the score over the last 15 hours is one four hour sleep and three two hours. It's getting better slowly but I am fed up with it. I hope we both do better!
I am just about to deal with my chicken..... So at least I have a warm kitchen from the oven! :biggrin2:

Today I shall be mainly recovering after a long, long journey. We (my daughter and I) went to see Madness at Minehead. It was a regular thing, then after 6 years they finished the contract but the group were back on this weekend and they plan to do another in 2026. We've already booked! It is a great weekend and a great way to decompress.

Well done Julie but I;m afraid that would put my lights out! I have improved the shining hour by sorting my chicken, cleaning up after the roast and then making two cabbages and two onions into savoury cabbage. Lovely stuff and just right for my diet!
I am looking forward to my dinner, today's chicken and veggies. Then another dadnap to top my sleep bank up!

Once again I am doing my best with a very uneven sleep pattern. Apologies to anyone trying to keep up but I am doing my best!
I hope to be in the shed early doors but missed yesterday....
At 22;53 I had done all my site editing and went back to bed to try to get some more sleep in. I shall return! :biggrin2:

When I next woke up it was almost 02:00. I had clawed back another three hours of sleep. So I have brewed my coffee and tried to make sense of something else that has happened.
Do you remember a few months since I stumbled on what seemed to be an illustrated serial about life in a forest community? I was directed to the start of the experience this morning, it's all there waiting for us but i can't remember how to access it! If I remember right Tripps found it as well. Can anyone give me and the rest of the site a clue on how to access it?

Morning

That was better, apart from a trip to the loo about 2, I slept from 11.30 till 7.30 pm. This morning i have a thick head but hopefully will now be on the mend as this is day 4 and a bit. I didn’t do pilates and yoga as I felt quite yuk yesterday evening. Maxine has said no to a sewing session this afternoon as neither she nor Ian, her husband, are in the best health so its best to avoid a cold. Thus I have no plans for the day apart from another day of taking it easy. Its due to be cloudy and dry, about 6 degrees. Have a good day all

Perhaps that's the key Sue.... Taking it easy and looking after yourself. Whatever, I hope your progress continues...
I have squeezed all the sleep I can out of the system, had my shower and change of clothes and I'm downstairs washing the next load and dealing with the last wash which is still on the rack in the kitchen. Looking ahead I think I'll be cooking buttered swede as an extender....

Off to Thoresby Hall Hotel this morning for a few days. There's some refurbishment works ongoing so hopefully there's not too much disruption.

An excellent production of Miss Saigon. The cast and scenery was exceptional, the cast actually did all the scene moving there were three cubical scenery blocks across the back that could be pulled out and rotated to give the various scenes and two staircases kept in the wings and used when required. The revolving centre stage was used to good effect also. Back projection of video effects and the various sound effects added to the atmosphere. Orchestra was fantastic and you could hear every word of the performers and lyrics. Poignant ending. All in all perfectly presented. Upper circle bang in the middle so a good vantage point. :ta:

Good stuff, glad you enjoyed it. We've had dinner in the old wine cellar and now off to see the entertainment. A duo we've seen previously doing a Michael Ball and Alfie Boe tribute act, no idea what they're doing this evening but I'm sure it'll be worth watching.

I shall be in the shed working on fitting the back lid. Today will be very much like yesterday, chasing sleep and at 11:30 a scheduled conversation with a Practice Nurse to discuss my meds....

Morning

Another sound nights sleep, with minimal medication. I reckon I am over the worse now.

We went for a walk yesterday afternoon to the post office and then a short distance down Whitworth Road to a specialist workshop machine repairer. I need some sewing scissors sharpened and after a search on Google found this small one man band who sends scissors away to be repaired and sharpened. They are collected on a Friday and returned the following week. Perfect. One pair has a spring loaded handle , great with my arthritis, but it had failed so I bought a new pair. Once repaired I will give this old pair to Lucy. The walk was tough going coming back up the hill , getting quite breathless but it was good to get out.

I spent the rest of the afternoon making fancy origami packages to wrap up the various gift cards we have bought for people this Christmas plus money for the two older grandchildren. I was rather pleased with my efforts. I got the idea from something I found whilst rummaging through some old card stuff that I have. I then did some research on youtube and found loads of little film clips. My relatively inactive week has allowed me to make great headway with Christmas jobs. Most cards are written, and posted after our walk to the post office. All presents bought thanks to armchair buying and Amazon, the rest were bought in France (not many this year)

This morning I have a repeat blood test at the Drs. This afternoon it will be Lucy and this evening its the Pilates Christmas do. I don’t normally go to this ´party’ but this year its a double with a 50 th birthday bash, for Taira which is the only reason I am going. I won’t stay long, just enough to show my face as they say. I haven’t the energy for much more at the moment . These days I would rather just go out for a meal with my Tuesday group than a big drinking and dancing session. Though I do normally like a bit of line dancing , which Taira has organised this time.

Its due to be wet all day, have a good day all

Morning Sue! I hope the blood tests go well, I sympathise with getting out of breath walking uphill!
I have had an upset morning as I had another broken sleep and when I did eventually come down and brew a pot of tea the milk (Dated 07 December) cracked That meant no coffee until I could have a quick Co-op shop at 07:00 so I postponed shed, had breakfast and went back to bed where I had two hours sleep. Back downstairs, went to the Co-op and when I got back I went in the shed and did some work on my lid, came back into the kitchen and brewed my coffee and now I am getting back on track. My next social calendar item is the practice nurse at 11:30 to discuss meds. Oh, and I have ordered my meat for delivery tomorrow...
