Bright but cold here in Barlick. Still, it's far better weather than it could be at this time of the year.

Yesterday kept to the forecast and was dry but bitterly cold. That ENE wind cut right through you. My response was an extended dadnap after dinner! We have had a dry night and this morning we have a breeze and it's dry under a heavy overcast. The glass is steady on 1034mb and the forecast is for a dry day with sunny intervals. The constant ENE wind is slightly lighter than yesterday and we can expect a high of 6C and a low of 1C tonight with a wind chill of -3C for most of the day which ensures we will always feel cold. The outlook is for similar mixed weather very close to the seasonal norm and occasionally we might get a glimpse of the sun. However, lets not forget that the weather could be much worse. We are having a very kind winter so far. Here's hoping it carries on like that!

During this weird ‘in between’ week, the weather gods have thrown in 2 very hot days. It’s +10C above our average daily high today - more tomorrow. It’s dry, our humidity is only 14%.
I refuse to go out until Tuesday, it should be much cooler then.

Yesterday afternoon didn't have a lot of the sunny intervals and we went into dusk with the usual overcast. It's been a quiet night with less wind than of late and heavy overcast. That's the picture now, first thing. Dry, heavily overcast and only a light breeze. The glass has fallen a bit to 1029mb and the forecast is for a dry day, heavy overcast until late morning and then a chance of some breaks in the cloud and sunny spells for a few hours. The NE wind will be light and we can expect a high of 6C and a low of -1 tonight with a wind chill that will be -2C for most of the day with an occasional -3C. No surprises and good weather for the time of year. Tomorrow will be bright and cold and then heavy overcast for a couple of days before reverting to bright and even colder weather.

It's overcast but the wind is nowhere near as aggressive as it has been for the last few days. If you're wrapped up well, it is almost pleasant!

Yesterday afternoon was overcast but not as cold as of late. We have had a quiet dry night and this morning we have a clear sky, a very light breeze and it's not too cold. The glass is steady on 1030mb. The constant N or NE wind will be light and we can expect a temperature of 5C and a low of -4C tonight. The wind chill is -3C at the moment but will be -2C for most of the day. The message is wrap up warm if you go out. Expect two more days like this and then brighter but colder weather as we embark on 2026.

Yesterday was a re-run of the day before and we had a mainly overcast day. There were clear spells during the night and this morning it's calm clear and cold. The glass had risen slightly but is now back on 1030mb. The forecast is for a dry overcast day with possible sunny spells this morning. The westerly winds will be light to moderate and we can expect a high of 5C and a low tonight of 1C with a wind chill of -4C at times bit mostly -3C. The perceived temperature will be -6C at dawn so the message is to wrap up well and be careful if you are driving. The outlook is for bright sunny and very cold weather to usher us into 2026.

Woke up to quite a hard frost, which isn’t in a rush to clear. No breeze at all, and a very light covering of cloud. At least it’s not blowing a gale and raining hard.

Yesterday was a cold day, there was a bit of sun in the afternoon but mainly bright overcast. That was the story through the night until around midnight when we had rain. This means that as we go into a frosty day there will be an ice hazard. The glass has fallen to 1012mb and the forecast is for a clear day with lots of sun but very cold. The mainly WNW wind will be brisk and gusts to over 40mph. We can expect a high of 4C and a low of -4C tonight but with a wind chill that will be -5C and rising later ensuring that the perceived temperature will always be below freezing. A snap of real winter and there is more to come. The outlook is for more wintry weather.
Later at 03:00. We still have light rain. This must mean black ice so go careful whatever you are doing.

Yesterday we had sun in the afternoon but by dusk we had broken overcast and the temperature was falling. the early part of the night brought us broken cloud overcast but now it has cleared. At the moment we have a cold breeze and clear sky. The glass has steadied on 1001mb and the forecast is for a bright but very cold day. The constant WNW wind is moderate all day and gusts to 35mph at times. We can expect a high of 2C and a low tonight of -4C with up to -6C wind chill giving us a perceived low of -8C. The outlook is for this colder spell to last for at least a week. 2026 is reminding us of what proper winter feels like!

I noticed the Moon was very big and round in the failing daylight on the way back from Aldi.

Then I'm told from Google News that it's a "Wolf Moon". I can't think why.
