Yes Kev. I shan't press you for the type. It's a Pelton Wheel. Tradition tells us that it was invented by a farmer who noticed that if a powerful jet of water hit a cow's nose it forced its head upwards....

Yes Wendy, a gas mantle... Used in Tilley paraffin lamps and Calor gas lighting systems....
