Morning

Another grey day but considerably warmer. Todays job is to tackle wall paper-stripping tn the accessible half of the dining room and for my part I will be washing down and painting the door frame and skirting boards in the same half. That is going to take much of the day. Have a good day all

This morning I cut the recess for the eccentric rod, drilled and tapped for the CS screw and fitted the rod. Then I drilled for the bolts that will hold the two halves of the strap when they have been split. Next job is the split and fitting the strap on the eccentric but that's for tomorrow. Right now I want breakfast.

Afternoon

This morning was rather short, too short to have time to write. I had some French homework ( les devoirs) to do for tomorrow but we had to be in Bradford just after 12. We were meeting members of the u3a History group for a visit to Bolland Hall in Bradford, and a light buffet lunch before hand at a cafe close by. We didn’t know of the halls existence but it proved to be an interesting trip round. It was after 4 when we got back home. I have just had a cuppa and finished my french and thought I would drop a note before I prepare our roast pork evening meal, which will be a little later than usual due to us consuming sandwiches and cake in the cafe. Hope you all had a good day. It was very spring like with us, 12 + degrees blue skies but a strong wind.

We had blue skies and wind as well to keep us honest!
This morning I shall be in the shed doing useful things to my eccentric strap. It looks like very similar weather to yesterday so I might chance a walk later....
Other than that, I have buttered swede to cook as an extender....

I finished fitting the bolts and it was slightly more complicated than I expected so I didn't get round to splitting the strap. However, I did remember to give it the witness marks that ensure correct orientation and fitting. Now for breakfast.

This morning I set the VM up for using a small slitting saw and after measuring and marking I cut the eccentric strap so that it can be mounted on the eccentric. Then I cleaned up the strap, replaced the bolts and set the boring head up for tomorrow. Now for breakfast.

Morning

I have an appointment this morning and pilates and yoga this evening otherwise nothing planned for today. It promises to be a dry day about 12 degrees, I may put on some gardening gear and do a bit of a garden tidy up, there are still fead plant leaves lurking on the side borders and healthy large weeds in the pots. Have a good day all

Gardens always demand attention don't they.... I think you might have a pleasant day out there. I've just been for a short walk to the Co-op and it is very acceptable for late February, only a light mild breeze.....

I am always happy out there in the garden, I miss it in the winter. Though the heavy gardening is now nearly a thing of the past . I think I have nearly finished my redesigns both here and in France to reduce the digging and all the heavy cutting back. I will still have my veggie plot in France but as it is covered with a groundsheet all winter it doesn’t take too long to sort it

This morning has been a battle with a dreadfully slow site. I am going to decline the shed and prepare my pork belly, orange and onions and get it in the slow cooker.

Afternoon

All up and running. Thank you Kev.

We were both at the hairdressers this morning. When we came back I did an hour in the garden, I am about half way round the back now clearing dead plants and leaves and trowelling over the soil as I go. This afternoon I am off for a swim and Bob is wallpapering.

This is like the Forth Bridge, never ending. The damp wall is drying but not ready to wallpaper yet so between us we are plodding on with the dining room. I have nearly finished all my painting tasks, that is till we start emptying and moving big pieces of furniture. It will all be polished inside and out and the crockery washed before replacing it. At least we will have Spring cleaned these two rooms , several times over 🤣 by the time we have finished . This evening I have zoom pilates.

Its a mild cloudy day, all the ground seems damp but not from any rain. I think there is some due this afternoon. Have a good afternoon all.

Despite the persistent damp you seem to have had quite a productive day Sue. The weather looks very similar today so you might get another one in.....
I am aiming for the shed for an hour this morning. The site is very slow so I am not sure how long it will take me to service it..... There is nothing calling for particular attention until tomorrow so I could be having a quiet day.

One simple job.... Bore the eccentric strap out to 1" diameter and fit it to the eccentric. 45 minutes well spent. Now all we need is a governor stand and we can think about finishing this engine. But first, breakfast.

Afternoon

Thanks you techy experts for getting us back on

We have spent the day at Christies ,all good news provided tests over the next month are all clear. I can’t believe it is 2 years already since treatment and the daily treks down the motorway for nearly 6 weeks . Bob was held up in a queue this afternoon for blood tests so I had to message Lucy and swap this afternoon to Monday afternoon.

Just got in and having a cuppa whilst finishing the washing I started before we went out at 10.45 am. Hope you have all had a good day. We have despite the long waits
