That's good news Sue. Now I have fingers crossed for the next set of tests!
I shall be in the shed doing useful things to my valve train! Later I have to go to the pharmacy for some pills they owe me from my last prescription. Apart from that, nothing pressing on my agenda.....

This morning I dealt with the last casting and definitely the worst to work on as there are no reference faces to measure from. It has to be fettled by eye and that is bad news for a 90 year old bloke with bad eyesight. However I did my best and here's where I ended up after 45 minutes. It's not brilliant but it will do. Now for breakfast.

I hope to be in the shed early doors working on the valve train..... Nothing claiming my attention later so perhaps a short walk and then spend the rest of the day looking after myself.... :biggrin2:

One fiddly little task this morning. Mark, drill and tap for the two 5BA studs that hold the Governor stand on the side of the bed. Half an hour of careful error-free work and the last piece of the valve train is in place. From now on it's a matter of final fitting and adjustment but that's for tomorrow. My next job is breakfast.

Morning

Its a little cooler today with rain expected around lunchtime for a couple of hours. I have no particular plans except perhaps emptying one cupboard in the dining room so it can be moved to decorate that end. I shall wash all the bits and pieces before we put it back. Claire and Erin are calling this afternoon to have a cuppa and to pick up birthday presents . Its both their birthdays this week , plus Claire and Adams wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it is 9 years since they married.

Otherwise I shall finish the dress toile of Lucy’s dress so she can try it on when she comes on Monday, then if it fits we can cut out the real thing. Have a good day all.

Slightly cooler here as well Sue but still very kind weather for the end of February.....
I shall be in the shed working on refining my valve train. We are getting very close to a finished engine!
Nothing pressing in my social calendar, it could be another day spent looking after myself..... :extrawink:

Morning

What a beautiful sunny morning, don’t know if it will last. We were busy yesterday, we moved the big unit in the dining room and Bob stripped the wallpaper behind it, painted the skirting board and re wallpapered. I emptied the cupboard, cleaned and polished inside and out, washed all its contents and had a sort. We gave one set of large glasses to Claire and Adam when they came round. They were wine glasses but their shape is ideal for desserts like ice cream sundae or trifles. I threw a few bits away and sorted out a bag for the charity shop.

Whilst Bob was wallpapering I took the overwintering plants out of the greenhouse. Those that were not shooting I covered with plastic to protect them a bit longer, then I refilled the greenhouse with the 22 geranium cuttings ( now healthy plants) that have been growing in the conservatory and on bedroom window cills. That meant we could have lunch in the conservatory. I also washed the towels and a few bits as well as ironing what little there was to do. A good days work leaving me free to finish Lucy’s toile today ready for tomorrow and to refill the cupboard once we have put it back in place

I think we are due light rain from 10.00 but only a low chance . Have a good day all

It's nice here as well Sue. Only downside is that the glass is still falling but we shall have to wait and see what that means.....

You've started something now, I feel the need to make a cheese and onion loaf. I have strong white bread flour and dried yeast in the cupboard 😂

Ooh! That sounds interesting, we do like a hot cross bun. The dough is on with it's first rise, I'll mix in some lumps of cheese and some finely diced onion and put it in the loaf tin for it's second short rise in an hour. :good:

Here is the recipe for the dough in the breadmaker. I then cooked it just on the normal loaf setting
