We had the same in our first flat together in South east London, it was £4 a month to rent the TV (1981).PanBiker wrote: ↑11 Apr 2026, 09:57 Looks like a (piped TV, (cable TV) switch. Usually installed on the window casement. Some had BBC radio channels as well. Ours at home when I was lad had BBC 1 and ITV TV, Home Service (R4) Third Programme (R3) and the Light Programme (R2). The system pre dates the advent of BBC2 and Radio 1. Some of the distribution cabling is still visible on some of the properties around town. Antennas and amplifiers for the service were just off Salterforth Lane in the field at the side of Rainhall Rock. Distribution and amplification system was in the building at the bottom of York Street in Barlick.
When I replaced the troughing, on Montrose Terrace, there was cable laying in it. This would have been 2005.
