They provided me with a referral code for new customers, they said to share it with friends and neighbours. Both parties can get a monetary incentive if the code is used on sign up.

I've allowed port 80 through the firewall (to allow LetsEncrypt to auto resissue the site security certificate). According to a LetsEncrypt forum, and AI, this is best practice as long as we have a redirect to https (port 443) which we do. I've tested a manual reissue and it works.

I'll monitor the site this evening for any untoward activity.

We still haven't got fibre connected in our postcode area even though we're very close to the centre of Taunton. When I put our address into their checker web page Openreach say they'll get to us by the end of 2026. Last year it was saying end of 2025 and stayed like that until about March this year then changed to 2026. Most of the rest of Taunton is already connected. I can't get any reason for the delay out of Openreach. One of their vans was outside our house the other day and the engineer was working in the hole in the pavement. I asked him when we'll get it and the answer was "Sorry mate, I'm from Yeovil, can't help you".

We've not had fibre here in Foulridge for long. BRSK started installing the infrastructure in 2025 and then disappeared, they're now back as YouFibre (owned by Virgin media). The equipment is still labelled up as BRSK.
