Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
No need for an image this morning. I was not satisfied with the finish on the back lid so this morning I re-worked it. Much better now and ready for fitting.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
We are in the Premier Inn at Coventry. Bob is going over to Bedford to take part in a boiler testing seminar. I shall walk up to Julias later. Julia and Eve are at a swimming gala but I will spend my day with Briony and Ed. We shall all see each other this evening. Eve will be going out with friends as it is her 17 th birthday today. We will celebrate without her
with a take away for tea.
The crossing was good yesterday and we arrived 20 minutes early. We volunteered to take part in a trial to do with this new system at passport control, but we were still out of the port before the docking time of the ferry. It was a lovely evening with magnificent skies, and next to no traffic untill we got to Oxford. Today is promising sun, cloud and 18 degrees. I am not sure what I will be doing but it will be nice to share my day with family. Have a good day all’

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
And now we can say that you were making some pretty good decisions at 17 years old Sue!
Yesterday was a good day and most noticeable was the difference in wind chill as the wind dropped and moved into the South. We had a quiet night under broken overcast, the moon always visible but through a veil of cloud. At the moment it's a mild morning under broken cloud wit sneaky little breeze from the East. The glass is up slightly on 1022mb. The forecast is for some early sun but then a day of bright overcast. The wind will be a moderate easterly until noon but then lighter and from the west for the rest of the day. We can expect a high of 18C and a low of 4C tonight with a chill of -3C until noon and -2C thereafter. The six day outlook is for similar warm sunny weather. April is treating us very well!

As I think I might have said before, it never fails to amaze me how many holes we have to drill in castings to make an engine! This morning I started on the two lids and the steam chest cover.... Now I am ready for my breakfast.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
It was a beautiful day here. I spent the day pottering round the house and garden with Briony and Ed. We wrapped Eves birthday presents in the morning ready for her return from the swimming gala in Birmingham, and in the afternoon B and I sat in the garden doing some watercolour painting. It was about 22 degrees, so much sunscreen was needed. When Julia and Eve returned from the gala Eve had decided not to go out as she is swimming the 800 m freestyle this morning. They were both back at the pool early.
Bob and I will breakfast about 9 and then drive home. A cloudier day is forecast than yesterday . Have a good day all.

There will be no shed this morning, instead I will be putting my chicken in to roast. We have reached that time of the week again! I shall be dealing with that later, veggie cooking will be tomorrow....

Morning
We were home by 12.15 pm which gave most of the day to unpack the car, do all the washing and titivate various plants in the garden and greenhouse. Our neighbour had watered the plants in the greenhouse but the heat had been so intense they are not looking too good. Bob managed to get down to the park to collect the takings from the last two weekends, and I got my car fully charged mainly using the electricity from our solar panels.
This morning is French at Haslingden , this afternoon will be ironing and washing some fabric I bought in France on the way to the ferry.i have yoga in the studio this evening. It will be a cool start this morning but sunny reaching about 17 degrees. A little rain is forecast about 6 . Have a good day all

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
We have the same forecast here Sue, rain around 15:00.... But it's sunny now and I am relaxing after roasting my chicken and getting it all sorted, nicely browned and in the fridge. I think I might cook some veggies to improve the shining hour!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
This morning I marked the hole positions for the studs that hold the steam chest and lid and then drilled and tapped them. Then I fitted the studs, I had a bit of trouble with one, I had to tap the hole again and run the die down the thread on the stud but it surrendered eventually. 45 minutes of accurate error free progress. That earns a breakfast.

Morning
My body is on french time still so I was wide awake well before 6.00 am . Not a bad thing as I have a physio appointment at 9 at the other side of Rochdale so will have to leave by 8.20, i think I have a trapped nerve in my shoulder and despite the Pilates type exercises I have been given and have been doing daily it is not easing. After physio we are off to Ordsall Hall in Salford for a guided tour with the u3a History group that we are in. Its a trip tgis time organised by me. This evening I have pilates and yoga depending on what the physio says.
Today is due to be cloudy and much cooler, about 14 degrees. Have a good day all

Yes it is the Probus Club Wendy.
And yes Stanley he did mention the Arley seam.
It was a really interesting talk and given very well. It was the first of four, I think the second one is next year, shame it’s not earlier. It was well worth the trip over.
