Yesterday afternoon was sunny and we had good sun right up to nightfall. Then a quiet dry night under heavy overcast. Currently it's windy and we have heavy rain. The glass is down on 1003mb and falling rapidly. The forecast is for significant rain all day. The moderate wind is WSW but by early morning will be swinging into the north and gusting consistently to 30mph. We can expect a high of 12C and a low of 2C with a wind chill of -4C which will moderate to -3c later. The outlook is for drier brighter weather and it will get warmer next week.

We’ve had rain overnight, at the moment it’s dry and quite breezy. Not a good forecast I’m afraid, don’t think we will fit a walk in.

It brightened up so we went for a walk, and it decided to rain, we got a bit wet, but at least we got a bit of exercise.

I've been out to the Co-op. Far less rain than forecast and that sun is strong but tempered by the NW wind.....

Yesterday afternoon deteriorated to heavy overcast and the odd rumble of thunder in the distance. We had a dry overcast night but with a sneaky cold NW breeze. The glass is down on 1000mb and steady. The forecast is for sunny spells all day interspersed with showers this afternoon. The light NW wind gives us a high of 12C and a low of 1C tonight with a wind chill of -3C for much of the day. The outlook is for gradually improving weather but could be wet on Sunday.

Yesterday afternoon again fell back into bright overcast with a bit of late sun just before nightfall. We have had a calm night and at the moment it's still calm, heavily overcast but dry. The glass is up on 1003mb and tending to rise. The forecast is for a sunny dry day tending to overcast this afternoon. The mainly NW wind will be light but increasing to moderate this afternoon. We can expect a high of 12C and a low tonight of 0C with a -2C wind chill for most of the day. The outlook is for similar weather getting warmer as we move into next week.

I remembered last night that the old farmers always reckoned the second week in June was Grass Day. They could be right again!
