My name is Graham. My mother's aunt used to live in Barnoldswick. I visited her there is about 1970. Nice place. I live in Sydney in Australia. Today the temperature in Sydney is 44.9c. Yes it's bloody hot. My mothers aunt died some time ago. Her son's name was Cecil Sherwood. If he is still alive he'll be about 92. If anyone knows of him please reply and let me know if he's still around.

One day I would like to get back to the area to do a bit of walking in the countryside. I see there is a forum on walks so I should pay that a bit of attention. Nice to see the site is still going. I'll try to visit more often.

Bit confused by first blank post but welcome to both of you anyway.
I've known two Grahams, Percy Graham who worked at the dairy (West Marton) in the 1960s. He was originally an estate worker for Gledstone and lived in a tied cottage next to the dairy till he died. His daughter Dorothy married Ted Lancaster, a driver at the dairy and they lived at Sough. The other man was Jim Graham who lived on Greenberfield Lane. He was an engineer and was a tutor at I think Rossendale College. He died relatively young in the late 1980s(?).

Just found the answer to my query. "SHERWOOD
Cecil On 13th December 2012, peacefully at Cravenside Nursing Home, Cecil aged 95 years of Barnoldswick. The funeral takes place on Friday 11th January at Skipton Crematorium at 10.20am ". BTW my first name is Graham. My surname is Vick. It's a long winded job going backward and across the family tree.
