Sue, I've been on constant wardrobe review since I lost weight. Everything fits now so I am the best dressed pensioner in town as I try all my old clothes on. Consolation is that I bought well when I was carrying! Many things are worth more now than when I bought them.
Reading day today but I might do what I did yesterday and write another article.

Working in Colne library and resting after yesterday's exertions. Moving the electric fence was exhausting! I felt as if I'd walked 10 miles by the time I'd finished...and then I had to get the lawnmower out and cut the grass round the house,(it doesn't quite qualify as a lawn).

Just having 5 minutes with a coffee before heading to Grange over Sands for a meeting with the board of a group of children's homes. Just skim read a Government working group report on the changes recommended to be introduced around children's homes. One of main ones is that the independent visits that I do are likely to become compulsory for all providers. Could have major implications for me in being approached to do more.......not sure I can fit any more in and still get the odd day to benefit from retirement. Nolic

Two boxes of stuff to Holden antiques produced a little bit of cash then 4 boxes and bags mixed to the hospice shop, including a boxed wedding hat and 5 dressy dresses that I no longer wear, or want to wear. Now I have a bit of room for the clothes I have been making.

I'm seriously considering washing bedding even though it is a rainy day. Amazing how quickly duvet covers dry hung over the bannisters in the warm air coming up from the front room stove....

Clean bedding means big sleeps. Jack had to wake me at 05:00 this morning.... Today, reading the new le Carre and perhaps an article.
I have to admit that while I am good at keeping up with the washing, I am not the best man in the world at sorting whites from coloureds so every now and again I sam up all the white stuff and give it a hot wash with bleach in. The machine is doing its stuff as I write. Good for the inside opf the machine and the pipes as well....

On the fast ferry to Cherbourg from Portsmouth. Grey but a fairly smooth crossing. Our ferry to Caen was cancelled due to an engine problem, hence this boat is very full. At least it is only 3 hours with just over an hour to go.

I am always amazed at how we can communicate in 'real time' these days, Sue.
You on a ferry....me cooking dinner in South Australia. (dinner being very late tonight with Hubby in hospital and son working until 8.30pm. I am starving!)
All I want to do is crawl into bed really, but I promised son a roast dinner....

Ah yes dinner. The fast ferry does not have a restaurant so we decided to shop when we landed and cook tonight. BAD PLAN. It's a public holiday today, everywhere shut. Thank goodness for pork chops in the freezer, potatoes in the fridge, chard and luscious thick asparagus spears in the garden. Otherwise it would have been a packet of cheese sauce mix with macaroni!
