The Clatter of Clogs in the mills of Earby.

Post by Wendyf »

Stephanie Carter's new book entitled "The Clatter of Clogs in the mills of Earby" will be launched by the Earby & District Local History Society on Saturday 14th September at the New Road Community Centre.
The event is part of the Heritage Open Days scheme and there will be an exhibition about the mills in Earby and a display of textile artefacts from the society's collection.
The centre will be open from 10.00am, and special guest Mr Stanley Graham has kindly agreed to open the Book Launch Event for us at 11.00am.

Stephanie mailed me yesterday to thank me for helping her at the launch. Nice! But I'm afraid I had to take her to task because she kept running herself down. Typical isn't it, the best researchers are often the most self-critical. She's working on another book on the Great War, I look forward to it and if they want me to launch that one as well I'll be down there like a shot!

Article in today's BET. My only problem is that I appear to be morphing into Simon Schama......
