Did anybody see the BBC North West programme the other night when they were trying to find the family of a WW1 soldier who died and received the Memorial penny engraved with his name. It had been found in the attic of a house.
It was interesting to know a little of this medal as I have inherited one. It belonged to my great aunt whose husband was in the Royal Flying Corps. He died just months after their wedding. My medal is still in its original box and has a certificate to go with it.
Did anybody see?

Re: Did anybody see?
I didn't see the programme Sue, but I have seen a couple of the memorial pennies, in fact I think we have one in the History Society archive.
Re: Did anybody see?
I saw it Sue, I think they have succeeded in tracing the family and it is going to be updated on monday evening's programme.
