Re: Autumn 2013
Clear sky with some scattered cloud, almost calm and very mild for the season. Glass was rising slowly yesterday and is on 29.5" this morning. Good forecast for today and even better tomorrow. This is wonderful weather for the season!

Re: Autumn 2013
Incredible weather for the season. Outside it's clear, mild, dry and calm. Glass is still rising very slowly and is a shade over 29.5" this morning. Good bright day forecast with light SW breeze. Look for some rain later tomorrow.

Re: Autumn 2013
Weatherman tells us that Perth will have mid 30C's, our east coast will have bad storms, Mt Wellington in Tasi had snow today and we are in the middle with 23C and rain. Big country.

Re: Autumn 2013
Tricky stuff this weather Cathy! This morning it's dry outside but slightly more breeze and definitely colder even though the weather man tells us it's exceptionally mild... Glass has fallen to 29.3" so there is a change on the way. Forecast is for a dry morning but a good chance of showers later. Still good weather.

Re: Autumn 2013
It was raining quite hard at 04:00 but I've just been outside and it's stopped but it's a damp cold morning. Glass is down a touch at just above 29.1" Forecast is for another spell of rain at dinnertime and a forecast high of 10C but it doesn't feel like that at the moment! Verdict? Could be worse!

Re: Autumn 2013
Beautiful sunny day with blue skies...have just reclined on the couch whilst Febby mows the lawns. Before he wheeled the mower out I had been trimming the Jasmine and dead-heading the Roses, but I always get hit with bits kicked out with the mower or get dust in my eyes, so I stay well clear of the mechanical beast. Once he moves around to the front of the house, I shall return to the back yard. Dinner may be a Cheese Salad Baguette under the back verandah in an hour or so...
It will mean missing the Cricket though.....

Re: Autumn 2013
Yesterday was a quiet dull day with occasional light rain. It's dry and colder this morning but enough cloud to obscure the meteor shower! Glass is rising slowly towards 29.3" but this will change in the next day or so because some big storms are heading into the North of Scotland this morning. Winds up to Severe Storm, Force 11. We shall get the backwash from these. The forecast is for Barlick to stay dry until early afternoon when it will start raining and that will probably go on well into the night. The wind is going to increase and gusts over 40mph can be expected this afternoon. Be thankful you are not at sea in Northern waters, we tend to forget the fishermen and merchant seamen who have to be out there in all weathers. Pare them a thought.

We had another perfect day...blue skies.
One walk this afternoon, with another chalked in for after dinner...though I don't feel like eating at all.

Re: Autumn 2013
Met forecast was spot on, the wind and rain in the afternoon and early evening was horrible, I felt sorry for anyone who had to be out in it. Glass dropped to just over 29" but is rising again and almost at 29.2". Lousy shipping forecast again for the North of Scotland. Forecast for Barlick is good, mainly dry with a brisk westerly breeze and perhaps a bit of rain in the early evening. Could be a lot worse!

Clear and bright here today. If it stays as clear, there should be good visibility for you know what.....

Re: Autumn 2013
I only had one clear sky and no lights.... Light rain out there this morning with a slight breeze but very mild. Glass has dropped to 28.9" not a good sign! Forecast is for rain to cease about now and a generally cloudy day with a brisk westerly breeze. Tomorrow is expected to be sunny!
08:45. Jack and I are back from our walk in really lousy conditions. Wind, cold rain and despite the 'mild' weather, freezing cold. I've rubbed Jack down and put on a clean pair of dry trousers. Feeling human again! It must have rained a lot during the night, Butts Beck is running a banker and the open ground is sodden. Proper November weather but there you are, we're back in the warm, there's plenty to eat and things could be worse. Funny that one of the things that bothered me about losing my glasses was that my eyes would water even more in the cold wind. The truth is the reverse. They water less and it's such a treat to blink, clear the raindrops off the eyeballs and see clearly. I never got round to windcsreen wipers on my glasses....

It's heating up for us, 31C today and 34C for Tuesday. I think Perth has 37C Tuesday.

I had an email from my friend in Perth and she said it was very hot. She said the Poms were melting at the cricket! I holidayed in Perth at this time of year some time back but it was pleasant but got hot by New Year, here it never seems to get light. Eileen

Had mail yesterday of daughters Janet and Susan cooling off in the pool in Perth. Grandson Harry was walking on the water.... Now why was I not surprised?

Re: Autumn 2013
Damp start, clear sky, bit of breeze but no rain. Glass is up at 29.3" and forecast has changed for today since yesterday. It is to be cooler, cloudier and less wind but still a good day. Wind will be varying in direction all day but lighter than they thought. High could be 5C.

Re: Autumn 2013
It turned out to be a cold bright day in Barlick yesterday. It's windy and cold out there this morning. There has been a light shower during the night. Glass is at 28.9" and the forecast is for a blustery day with a southerly wind but wind chill below freezing at the moment and not rising much above 3C all day. Good day for being inside!
08:20. Jack and I were lucky, we had our walk in the dark and missed the rain, it stopped as soon as we went out and is starting again. Cold and wet, roll on the 21st when the days start to lengthen again.

Having checked our local forecast on the BBC weather web page you prompted me to put in an Australian city for comparison and I got a map showing these temperatures for Thursday - rather you than me, Maz!Marilyn wrote:Hot! Just after 7am and it's already 24C in Melbourne. We've been lucky so far, it's been a lot hotter in Adelaide and Perth.

Re: Autumn 2013
It is just awful.
Mopped the kitchen floor and ended up wetter than it.
Think I will end up having a cold bath by mid afternoon.

Re: Autumn 2013
No cold baths here Maz. It's windy and cool outside. There has been a shower during the night and the forecast is for one more around morning walk time! Funnily enough the temperature is dropping and will continue to do so during the day. Glass is well down at 28.4", not good. It wouldn't surprise me if there is some snow up at Wendy's during the day.... There is that feeling in the air.

Thank goodness we only got to 42C about 4.30 and then it started to cool down. It's about 33 here at the moment - still too hot.
