Grilled some bacon so Bacon and boiled egg salad butties X two for dinner and tea.

Well, for dinner (or lunch as some would have it), locally produced bread (Flower Pot from Liddells Bakery), with herb off the square flavoured quiches (flans to me) and garnished with freshly picked leaves and other allotment produce. A decent number of bloom activists came along and had a bite with the judges from North West In Bloom and everyone had a good time.

Cheese salad butty at dinner and mackerel based salad for tea. Leaving room for today's Full English and Dinner!

Mother's staying with us at the moment and she made us a fish pie last night. Yum Yum!!

Some stewed peaches and youghurt for afters.

She's asked me to do sausages, mash and onion gravy for her tonight, so I will.

Richard, my mother's fish pie was wonderful as well. I have never been able to duplicate it...
Porridge and full English breakfast as we climbed up past Settle, Sausage and apple meat pie on the pier at Ullswater before we got on the boat. Chile and Wensleydale soup, chicken and veggies with summer pudding and a bottle of 'Gravy train Beer' (Very good!) as we came back over Ais Gill. Everything cooked on the train by two chefs in the kitchen carriage and excellent quality. They roasted the boneless chicken in bacon blanket and it worked, very moist and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended. I raised a glass to Gloria on the way back, enjoy the day Flower! (Try the sausage and apple meat pie at the pier at Ullswater... Very nice! Fills a corner nicely and doesn't spoil dinner.)

An indulgent day! Wild boar sausage, egg and tomato butty for dinner. It was so filling that I just nibbled on walnuts and sultanas for tea with fruit for pudding.

Doing something with Cauliflower tonight. Thought I might try Cauliflower and Cheese Soup. Am about to search on the net for recipes. I've heard it is very nice.

It is nice, be adventurous and try a touch of Chile in it.... Have just had a rare treat, one of Kath's pork pies for breakfast. I fancied it, so there!

Will try the butty Stanley, and glad you had the porridge. They had lamb before for the return meal, and very tasty that was too. Hope you enjoyed the day as much as we do.

It was as near to perfection as could be! We had chicken for dinner, roasted boned joints wrapped in bacon, superb.....

My Cauliflower and Cheese Soup went down a treat ( added the chilli).
Grumble bum enjoyed it...said I can cook it again...which is praise indeed.
Just hope it doesn't give us both wind.
Might make Pizza tomorrow night.

By the way, if you are wondering what on earth has happened to Cazza of late, she has computer problems. She thought it was the battery, but it appears to be the charger/transformer/power thingy...and she awaits delivery of new one. She suffers greatly from withdrawals in the meantime...

Three Wild Boar sausage as the base for a salad butty for dinner on home made bread. Tea was two small currant teacakes filled with a Pressed Beef salad. I do like occasional savoury butties on sweet teacake....

Made Spinach and Goat's Cheese Pizza tonight. Fabulous. Bought the Goat's Cheese at the wonderful Fruit and Veg shop we found close by our new home. Had no idea if there was a shop, but asked a local. I always find this a foolproof method...

Pressed beef salad butty for dinner after a meat pie for breakfast. I made some potato wedges for tea and had them with the last of the pressed beef and a couple of boiled eggs.

Ha...funny you should say that because we went for a three hour walk today ( just round about to see what's where) and I am sure I spied one or two characters I wouldn't bother to ask directions from.
Red Onion, Cheese and Asparagus Plait tonight...with Baby Peas, Carrots and Potato Bake.

I had six slices of haslet. Three slices formed the base of a plated salad with hot wedges for dinner and the rest joined the remaining wedges with peas, two boiled eggs and chopped salad in a nourishing and tasty bowl full for tea.

It will be Fish tonight ( Southern Blue Whiting) with left over Potato Bake and Baby Peas, Lemon Wedges and Tartare.

We seem to be the only ones eating again, Stanley.

Found some new recipes for my slow cooker this morning, and am considering trying something new tomorrow...which reminds me...must take the Chicken out NOW if I am putting it in the pot on the morrow!

Maz. There is a school of thought which says that the safest way to defrost is to blast in the microwave and not leave the meat with enough time to allow the microbes to start breeding.

I don't like to defrost Chicken in the microwave because at some point the thinner sections start cooking...no mater how much you flip it and turn it. I defrost Chicken in the fridge, on a plate, under cling film.

I had a delicious plateful of ricotta filled tortellini with mushrooms & asparagus at a restaurant on the Albert Dock in Liverpool. We got 20% off the bill because we had tickets to see Neil Young at the Echo Arena around the corner...brilliant!
