I took note of the nudge I got from Moh and here's the ox tail arguing with onions, tomatoes and the usual ingredients. I am softening some dried peas in the pressure cooker and will be popping them in. I have spuds and carrots to hand so I don't think I will be dying of hunger today!

I like oxtail done in the slow cooker the day before I need it - when it cools I skim the fat off.
Lasagne tonight.

I agree about the fat Moh but when you've cooked it in a thick sauce most of the fat is absorbed by the other ingredients. No seat, there wasn't much fat on the Oxtail. Cooked spuds and carrots as well. So dinner and tea was Oxtail stew X 2.

That sounds good Moh! We like our onions!
Oxtail stew for dinner, small helping of stew and a bacon butty for tea. Half a bowl of stew left and it's butcher's day.

I had a lazy cooking day, too busy with other things. Bacon and egg butty for dinner and for tea I boiled some spuds and had them chopped up with a bit of salad cream on and topped with a blood pudding and two boiled eggs. Quick, tasty and all good stuff.

There were two small helpings of the carrots, spuds and burger sauce left so I had it for dinner and tea. I had baked a loaf so tea was augmented by a St Augur butty.

I had a couple of small racks of lamb left over from the wrap-up Stewart did for me at the summer holidays so yesterday afternoon I put them on a bed of onions and started slow cooking them, they are bubbling away now as I write and after the meat is off the bone I'll add some veg to make a Hot Pot. I had almost emptied the freezer so after defrosting it a couple of weeks ago I was ready for a reload. Stewart brought me half a two shear gimmer (a young ewe) cut into small joints. He had hung it for a week so it will be good stuff. I am ready for winter now!

Got some pork ribs - never done them before so I am going to look up a recipe to find out what is the best way to do them to rid them of as much fat as possible.

I think you'll find there is surprisingly little fat Moh.
I finished building the Hot Pot and had it times two for dinner and tea. Enough left for today, very small portions..... (Plenty of carrots and spuds in it Maz!)

Grrrrrr...I shall whisper it again...Carrots and Spuds and Onions are not enough...you need your leafy greens!
That means GREEN veg, and the deeper the green ( eg Spinach) the better!
Peas are a good start, but it is the deep greens you need, especially in a low light English Winter.
Try a Spinach and Cheese and Onion Pie....

I was not with it yesterday - it was belly pork not pork ribs!! Anyhow I did lamb chops, dauphinoise potatoes & garden peas yesterday, the belly pork is tonight - cooked then with a BBQ sauce (home made) poured over, served with oven chops & mixed green veg.

I sincerely hope they were LEAFY GREENS! If not you will die of scurvy....
Small bowl of Hot Pot and a banana for dinner. Very little left so I extended it with peas for tea and treated myself to a St Augur butty on toast to fill a corner. Fruit for pudding of course..... Fridge is empty, nothing on the stove and it's butcher's day today. I fancy steak pudding.....

I've been promised Prawns tonight, so no cooking for me.
Last time we had them, we sat on the beach and ate them out of the paper, along with a shared cone of chips, so I am hoping to repeat the experience tonight. It has been a beautiful sunny day, so the beach will be paradise around sunset.

Spooky, I went for onions as well Moh but Just sliced up in vinegar to go with my Haslet Butties X two for dinner and tea and a meat pie for a filler at teatime as the loaf was very small, one that Kath gave me.
