WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Finished the white loaf and the bacon at dinner time. Had two small pork pies for tea and then weakened later and had cheese on toast. Too near bedtime and you'll be pleased to hear that the Munchy Gods punished me. Woke up at 01:00 with horrible heart burn. Had to come down and have a dose of bicarb! Will I never learn?

Sausage and onions with tomato and spuds and carrots. Made a nice change from bacon butties! Times two for dinner and tea yesterday.

Lamb chops on a bed of onions & garlic with oven chips and roasted veggies.

It's going to be home-made meat and potato pie, mushy peas and gravy, November food.

Very slow done casserole with cheesy dumplings and non mushy peas, eaten whilst trying to ignore the smell of the new paintwork that has dominated this house for 3 weeks now!

Last two slices of a loaf I baked last week as a toasted butty at dinnertime and the stew for tea extended with peas, Thet get better each day!

Change of menu last night - had gammon, jacket potatoes & mushy peas - chops tonight. I have some oxtail cooking in the slow cooker, I will let it go cold, skim off the fat and eat tomorrow.

Long and slow Moh! Definitely the best way to go.
Had the last of the stew for dinner and gave myself a treat for tea, two currant teacakes with good cheddar cheese and onions steeped in vinegar. I know it sounds off-beat but try it, a lovely combination, bit like having cheese with fruit cake.

Tonight is the ox tail with plenty of veg. dumplings & mash.

I had pie and peas for dinner and steak pudding and wedgie chips for tea. Wedgies pre-boiled of course....

I had a freebie small white loaf so I grilled two burgers, added them to fried onions, tomato and the usual additions and made a thick relish which I used as a sandwich filling so three very small butties X two for dinner and tea. I've got a loaf in the bread maker this morning and plenty of options....

Roast lamb, roast potatoes, brussels, swede & gravy tonight.

BBQ Chicken Pizza tonight...homemade of course.

Spuds carrots and the relish fortified with six grilled pork sausages and a tin of baked beans for dinner. Bacon butty for tea.

Cold lamb with swede, peas and some Italian new potatoes bought in the market today (they are usually here for Christmas and are so tasty).

Veggies and relish X two for dinner and tea. Put some bacon ribs in to soak last night to get the salt out of them because they are Stewart's dry-cured bacon.

Veggies and relish for dinner. It was lovely, amazing how it gets better every day if just left on the stove. I had a little bit left over so I had that and the bacon ribs I had slow cooked during the day.

Meatballs in a beef and tomato sauce on pasta with cheese. Two grandchildren for tea, they love pasta and spag bol so this should go down well.

Two small two shear chops cooked slowly on a bed of caramelised onions. Had this with chips X two for dinner and tea. First time I have used any of the latest two shear which is a gimmer. Lovely meat....

Strange but the only pasta I like is lasagne, can't do with the rest.
Cottage pie tonight made with corned beef.

Pasta and meatballs went down well, our Finlay wanted seconds..good lad. Nothing left except the empty pans and slow cooker so it must have been OK.

The best compliment a chef ever has is clean plates. Had a butty at dinnertime made with mashed mackerel and tomato sauce filling, nice change. I had three lonely little red potatoes sat there so had a chip butty for tea. Amazing how nice a good chip butty can be. I think I must have very simple tastes.....
