Right into the centre to the new bus station. And we have a bus stop outside our house. Unfortunately the first bus on Saturday is not till 9.18 a.m so we will have to walk to Whitworth road for a bus.

Thanks for that Sue. I proposed a motorway park and ride on the tram as p[art of the Ellenroad development but the DOT wouldn't release land inside the interchange at the engine house.
Going in the shed with a clear conscience. I wrote my way into January 2015 yesterday!

I know I could be seen as an old Scrooge but I have always been suspicious of Xmas cards. Why not keep in touch with the really special people all year round?
As usual I shall be fully engaged with keeping my life together, looking after Jack and enjoying myself by keeping busy and making stuff in the shed. Using your hands to do creative stuff is so therapeutic, far better than vegetating and doing nothing but think about your infirmities!

I think quite the opposite, it's a way to keep in touch with friends and relatives that I rarely have a chance to see or speak to. I cannot see why people give cards to others they see every week or even every day.

I can understand that Sue. I always try to stay in contact during the year. One of my favourite ploys on a free telephone call day is to ring people I haven't seen for years. I have some lovely conversations.... But then I'm retired and have time for these things....
Today I shall buy myself a Xmas present, four HSS twist drills I am short of. I think I can get them at Briggs and Duxbury's. By the way I looked at the price of boxed sets of drills on the web. Amazingly expensive! I am a wealthy man, just have a look in my drill drawers!

We have been out and bought Christmas jumpers - our granddaughter has decreed we shall all wear them at their house on Christmas Day - should be fun (We have got ones we can wear anytime - not over Christmassy!)

Is there some sort of campaign on Christmas themed jumpers? I seem to be seeing a lot of them about.

You know where I'll be. I was just thinking last night how much mental pleasure I get when thinking about the best way to do whatever the day's task is on my castings. Not everybody's cup of tea I know but I find is fascinating....

Wet here in France today. We can't complain it's been a reasonable week and we managed to cut the lawn, prune the shrubs and tidy the flower beds. Home on Monday. You wouldn't know Christmas existed over here. Few decorations no songs in the background. You know I think I miss it, and I used to like coming here to get away from the Christmas hype!

Of course you did.... I have to re;port that after getting back from our walk I cracked and ran the Hoover round, except for the kitchen, I am going to leave that for Janet to do so she can assess the new cleaner.

Packing for the wedding, our Ruby is with us and will be one of Carla's bridesmaids. My father of the bride speech has been revised a number of times and now says what I want it to say. Lets get this show on the road.
