That wasn't a mystery for long...

Stanley is in the right area and Marilyn is on the nose. It was the discussion in another thread that reminded me that we had this 'Diablo' in a kitchen drawer; used to toast sarnies over the gas hob...

Might it be more useful if it was rectangular? :smile:

Well Trips that's opened up a can of worms. Actually I was going to post it on the 'Flatley Dryer' but Stanley's cri de coer changed my mind.

Its Dad's old army Jack Knife. A Wilson Sheffield 1941. What I didn't realize was how many different makers there were. Jack Knives. Another little puzzle.. ' Why JACK Knives. Were all military personnel called Jack's as in Jack Tar?

The spike on the back of the original jack knife was for splicing ropes not taking stones out of horse's hooves and so was named after 'Jack Tar'. Try this one....

Gloria was first and Ian got it exactly. It's one of the many blades on my Swiss Army knife given to me by Janet and Harry because I admired Harry's... Next for shaving?
