Today I shall be Mainly...
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Oh bless 'im.

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I had to smile when he finally wrestled the reproduction Victorian sink off its mount, and carried it he-man style off to the garage. Unfortunately he bashed into the corner of the wooden side-board in the hall...which now has a chunk taken out of it, and he has a matching injury to one arm. Somehow, over the course of two days, he has trod blood through the house with a cut to one toe, and has injuries to both hands also. I seem to run behind him with a roll of paper towel and a container of various sized sticking plasters...and a mop and bucket for the big injuries.
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I reckon you should get him some of those forensic type of overalls they wear on the telly at the scene of the crime,
Oh and some gloves and goggles... Hehe

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Good idea. That way all the blood would be contained...and will fill up the White integrated Wellies rather than muck up the house.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I feel sorry for David.... are you perhaps exaggerating a bit?

In case you haven't been watching Shed Matters, the engine is getting close to a finish. Valve gear and little finishing touches are on the cards. Another bloody engine to clutter my surfaces.....

So do you spray it on before the injury so that it's the pretend skin that is scraped off, or after the cut to help stick everything back together?!!!Marilyn wrote:I bought a can of spray on skin from the chemist today...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
A combination of paper thin skin and very high dose blood thinners taken every 12 hours...so I am not exaggerating. Even shaving can be a technicolour start to the day!
We haven't tried the spray on skin yet, Liz. He has one large skin tear that I think needs it ( which has been oozing for two days and band aids are useless because they just tear the skin more on removal), but so far he won't try the skin spray because I can't promise it won't sting (!)
I feel the need to seal or cover the wounds because he nearly died of Septicaemia a couple of years ago. But he likes to do things his way...
Being accident prone doesn't help of course.

Spray skin is good but it does sting initially. You do gave to take a deep breath!
If you keep searching you will find it

...then I can't see him being too receptive to the idea...but I shall keep trying.

The military use superglue for the same purpose, I bet that hurts as well!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Just don't tell him its going to sting. Be very surprised!! My daughter had to insist that they super glued her sons head back together. The doctor said he was too busy to stitch it and she should go to the hosptital. Needless to say he's no longer their doctor, but the super glue worked.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I warned him it may sting a bit yesterday as I prepared to spray...and that put the knockers on it...he refused to have it.
Next time, I will choose a better word than "sting".
" This may feel a bit COLD as it goes on darling" (?)

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Spray skin can be useful stuff especially on something like and injury to a knuckle where the area is constantly being stretched and relaxing. Haven't seen any for years here.... I used to laugh at Newton putting Manganesite jointing compound on cuts until I saw a report of Manganese being used in the treatment of persistent leg ulcers.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
The buyers mortgage has fallen through but they really want the house so we have decided to stick with it. Aagh! On to another house, the carpets go down on Wednesday at Anglesey. I tidied the garden today. We hope to have let it again by April. It's been a long job but we feel we have rescued a 200+ year old cottage that we love very much.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Funny isn't it Sue. A mortgage used to be a cast iron certainty for both buyer and provider, it was such a safe bet. But all that changed due to the greed of the providers when they chased dodgy deals and eventually caused the 2008 crash. Now they have swung to 'super cautious mode' and it's people like you that suffer. You have my sympathy. Just think of the number of people that are in your position..... I hope your buyers find a sensible lender soon and then you can get on with your life.
Guess where I shall be.....

Having Finlay for the day, not our usual day but my daughter Carla's school has an Ofsted inspection today. Not her usual teaching day but all staff have been asked to attend.
