You can't beat a real computer on a real internet connection........

Accessing the internet through a mobile phone connection, is good enough to get you out of a hole, but I'd be b*ggered if Its all I had.

I suppose cadging off folk who do have a real internet connection is a workable half way house.

We have real computers, Pluggy...but ONLY wifi internet where we live ( whch is excellent...high speed and 4G) so we have no complaints.
I pay extra for seperate Internet for my iPad ( about 10 pound a month) simply because we take it everywhere ( car/ caravan/ overseas/ interstate) and don't have or want Internet on our phones.
I have no real complaints about Internet as I think we get great access for our money. But the Apple downloads are getting beyond a joke in terms of frequency and size...and many of the apps are Internet "drainers". I also get annoyed when Apple update their operating systems ( big downloads) and then apps that one has purchased no longer work. Grrrrr...

I have no objection to acting as a conduit for Maz....
Froze three bowls of stew. Sausage and onion butties on oven bottom for dinner. Mutton stew for tea. I had a treat afterwards, a very small bar of milk chocolate which is the prize you get in the draw for using your debit card at the Co-op and six digestive biscuits with good Stilton on them. Naughty but nice....

Have you considered using hotspot to your mobile phone to access internet when you're in the caravan/car etc? I never use the download I pay for my phone so I hotspot when we're away in the caravan or at the holiday house. I pay an extra $10 per month for an extra 1 Gb if I go over my allocated 1Gb. Overseas we just use the free WiFi.

Hubby's eyesight isn't good enough to read an email ( or a complicated text message) n his mobile phone Liz, so we have never bothered with Internet on such a small screen. We had trouble enough finding him a phone that displayed the current time in big numerals(!)
Both our mobiles are "pre-paid" as we rarely make calls anyway. We don't have a home phone ( haven't had one since the kids lived at home and kept us poor with the phone bills).
He can manage my iPad mini though, so we just go with that. Screen is larger than a mobile phone and the pop up key board is manageable for him ( except when he has had a glass of wine.

). Then he claims I have done something to make it difficult!
He works from home, but the iPad makes it possible to get away for a few days as he can answer emails etc.

I am not always happy to use free wifi, as sometimes there are privacy issues.

We went out last night for Sally's birthday to the Barlick Raj. Meals were excellent as was the service. We both had starters and then Sally had a fish curry and I had a chicken byriani, we shared a garlic naan. Sally was presented with a double chocolate gateau complete with sparkler for her birthday.

Happy Birthday to both Sally and Fred.

Last night was homemade Chicken/Cauliflower/Potato and Sweetcorn Soup...and I made some Cheese and Chive Piklets to accompany ( they were yum!)

Wild Red Salmon and Pasta tonight.

Also made a large batch of Pizza Sauce to freeze in small containers (each container does two pizzas). Used herbs from my allotment...

Give Fred my best Moh, I get there on St Valentine's day and I think the kids will be doing the same for me.
I had the last of the stew in the pan with fruit for dinner and the remaining sausage on the last two oven bottoms for tea so the fridge is cleaned out..... (and the stewpot cleaned!)

We had a lovely meal and it was nice to have all our family there (a rare treat). Fred too got a cake with sparklers and the waitresses sang Happy Birthday.

I'm afraid the Oz contingent will be absent off parade at mine Moh.... Absent friends!
I got a nice piece of well hung rump steak off Kath yesterday and put it on a bed of chopped onion and tomato in a shallow dish with the usual seasoning. Popped it on top of the stove and by dinnertime I had some lovely slow cooked steak. I had it with chips for dinner and tea as I had four spuds going green..... Waste not want not!

Terrible isn't it.... However, if you can get to my age in as good condition you will be lucky. I must be doing something right somewhere!
Had two small boiled ham butties with mustard for dinner and a steak pudding and chips for tea.... (Fresh lot of Reds you two! No green on them!) For a treat I finished off the Stilton on digestive biscuits..... Naughty but nice!

Traditional roast dinner Moh. You are one of the last bastions of the Roast Dinner!

I built a blade of Mutton stew yesterday, no strong spices, just blade on a bed of onions and tomatoes cooked slowly and then spuds, peas and oats added in the afternoon. I had the last of the boiled ham on two butties for dinner and a bowl of the stew for tea. Lovely stuff and it will be better today after its second cooking.
The stew was a bit previous as I still have three bowls of the last one in the freezer.....

I put the stew on the stove and brought it to a simmer during the morning. I had a bowl for dinner, froze two bowls and filled another bowl which is sat in the fridge for today so the pressure is off me. Pot washed out and sat on the stove ready for the next essay into the world of Mutton. Didn't feel very hungry at teatime so had three apples and the last four digestive biscuits. Later I got the munchies and had two fried egg butties on what was left of the loaf Kath gave me on Friday. There is a crust left from the loaf....
Must be careful about my weight, I'm enjoying this stew too much!

I toasted the small crust I had left over and had it cut up in a bowl with two fried eggs and half a black pudding for dinner. For tea I had a frozen bowl of the old mutton stew. I put a loaf in the machine and it was out and cooling by 20:00 ready for today....

Decided to ignore the bread and concentrate on lowering mutton stew levels in the freezer! Had a bowl for dinner and tea. An apple and a pear for pudding and as the bowl of stew was small I got the munchies but successfully fought off the temptation to make a fried egg butty. Went to bed feeling smug.....

I had a black pudding, bacon and fried tomato butty for dinner. At teatime I had a small bowl of the freezer stew with the last of the spuds chipped to bulk it up. Butcher's day today......
