I keep thinking its something that predated the 'switchback' fairground rides. These older rides were set on level ground and just went round in a circle.

Its already been said its not "the period between the wars" and its later than 1893 so that has to put it in the early part of the 20th century and since it doesn't look anything like wartime, its going to be prior to 1914. Its in a 20 year period between 1893 and 1914.....

It's at an exhibition/exposition type of event and Pluggy has pinned down the time period, though it's not his Paris 1900 event. Ian is right that it's in Britain. But what are they doing? Think about how the cars are lined up, what does it remind you of...

White City - Franco-British exhibition of 1908 had a number of different rides could this be one of them?

The Olympics were held at the same time.

Yes, Ian and Stanley have got it. It's a photo of the motor racing tracks at the Imperial International Exhibition, White City, London, 1909. (Taken from a postcard image in a Warwick & Warwick (auctioneers) advert in Picture Postcard Monthly magazine, Nov 2015.)

Pics snapped quickly at the markets this morning. Same stall that we photographed something once before, and the seller gets a bit twitchy with us, because we don't buy anything.
So what is it? ( i can only go with the sellers explanation on the other side of the ticket).

Being an Australian mystery object it must be something to do with the 'Golden Nectar'. So it must be a gadget for dunking cans of beer in a water bath to keep them cool.

Is it to provide a constant supply of drinking water for birds? You connect the pipe to a water supply which fills the cups.

Aah, Stanley's "Manus or Fullwood" gave me the chance to google and it looks like they are trade names linked to milking machines. But not being familiar with such machines I still don't know what Maz's object does.

Correct.
The object was described on the ticket as a " Dairy Milk Cup Washer".
