Don't they give you a 2 hour window, or at least am or pm Stanley??
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

You mentioned UPS in another thread in which case it should be trackable.

No Cathy, just between 8AM and 6PM. Ian. Yes it's trackable but only if you register on their site which I prefer not to do. Besides, tracking won't alter the time of delivery. As it happened it arrived at 2PM.
Today's tip is always remember that action is the cure for worry. If you have a problem, don't sit there worrying, identify what it is and do something about it! You may not cure the problem but you'll feel better for having tried!

And putting that into more general terms, if you are going to have to do something unpleasant then get on and do it as soon as possible. It's too easy to delay it with all sorts of excuses but you'll only suffer stress until it's over.

One further corollary to the above. It's permissible to get angry with yourself but beware of anger directed against others. You can end up in even more trouble!

Always try to empty the refrigerator, eat all the ready-use food before you go out and buy any more. That way you don't get any surprises lurking at the back of the bottom shelf! You waste less food as well.....

We all tend to get into ruts in what brands we buy. I always bought Tetley's tea but one day I couldn't get any and had Yorkshire Tea instead. Guess what I always buy now! I suspect I was buying simply on price. Laudable but every now and then it's good to have a break out!

Something wrong with their reckoning, the caddy is marked net weight 200g 3.53 oz. I make it 100g 3.53 oz or 200g 7.06 oz. No wonder it's cheap. Wonder if you can trust them to get the contents right?
I bet you weigh the contents when you receive them! :geek:
If you only get 100g then write to them and claim false advertising!

Well spotted China! I've looked at images on Google and found both correct and incorrect tins. I wonder if the company is foolishly selling off the wrongly labelled tins at a cheap price? Look at the bottom right-hand corner of each tin. The top image is from Tripps's linked page and the bottom image I on another Twinings web page. As China says, the top image has an incorrect weight. If Stanley and tripps have to complain they've been mis-sold they can direct Twinings to this OG page to see the images and the links to the appropriate Twinings web page are shown below each image.

I sometimes think no one reads anything I post - then you all prove me wrong, and get your magnifying glasses out.

Thankfully, my 200g tins say 7 .05 oz, and that's what they contain. They are a lot bigger than the 100g tin which I got a couple years ago. Too nice to recycle - so I use it as a working tea caddy. As to the price - a clear case of 'caveat vendor ' I'd say.

Not quite as good as your tip on Lea and Perrins in industrial quantities but good nevertheless. I ordered 2X200gm. Thanks David! So nice to have a reliable Personal Shopper on the site.....

Oddly enough -I also cleared out my lower kitchen storage recently, and there right at the back was a forgotten 2 Litres of Lea and Perrins. I bought three at the time, (two years or so ago?) - gave you one, and one for me. Mine's still three quarters full, and will probably last a lifetime, so I've put your name on the found one, for delivery when the weather gets better.

Totally idiosyncratic tip from me today. If your bank balance is healthy don't spend your life chasing the best deal on comparison sites. I suspect that in the long run, and for most people, constant change isn't the cheapest way to run your life.

"..don't spend your life chasing the best deal on comparison sites" [Stanley]
And a related tip - don't assume you can always get things cheaper on Ebay. You know Mrs Tiz and I collect postcards. On Ebay you can buy Dalkeith 6-postcard sets and they are priced at £3 minimum, mostly £5, on BuyNow. At the Shepton Mallet Postcard fair recently I bought a box of about 50 sets for £35. For the rarer old postcards on Ebay that get auctioned people often pay daft prices when they could get them much cheaper at a fair or through a normal dealer. There seems to be an assumption that everything online is cheaper than in a shop. Not true.

I wonder what happened to that young guy, the artist, who drew the pics that are hanging on Stanley's wall in the photo? I hope he's successful.
[EDIT} I should have looked further down the forum list, Tripps had the same thought....Conor

DIY tip today. If you are drilling metal and your drill fails you, try using a sharp masonry drill, they are tipped with tungsten carbide and will cut the hardest steel. If you haven't got one, consider buying a small cheap grinder and fit it with a green grit wheel for sharpening carbide. You'll be amazed what a difference it makes to using masonry drills.
