Haven't tried it yet, Wendy. But I do intend to! Soon!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Mine didn't work all that well, I think I overdid the toppings and there was just too much flavour!
Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Well...sweetie...had you had enough wine? Sometimes these things require that extra half a glass!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Oh yes, my wine level was well topped up.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Now I feel compelled to give it a try to compare findings. Don't feel bad until I have reported my efforts.
If we both fail,

It will have to be done tomorrow though, as we have just had dinner our end.
Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Have emailed the recipe, though of course, we don't "do" Salami due to garlic. ( might use Bacon)

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I Googled a recipe so didn't use the one that you provided
I found one that didn't have mozzarella cheese in the crust cos there wasn't any in the fridge.....this may have been where I went wrong, or perhaps my tomato topping was a wee bit sloppy. It was tasty, just overwhelming.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
If I do it again I'll use cheese in the crust and less tomato sauce. My bit had mushrooms, olives and anchovies, Col's side had salami as well.
Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I note the nutritional info, and only 14 g of Carbohydrate. Depends what you "load" it with, but I love fresh mushrooms and Baby Spinach. Neither of us are fussed about meat. I make my own tomato base with oven roasted tomato/onion/ red capsicum and herbs and a bit of Olive Oil. Made a batch yesterday, so shall thaw a container.
Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Made the Pizza, with the Cauliflower ( and Spinach) base.
( no flour)
I would eat it again...though I do prefer a traditional base. You have to be prepared to try these things...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I cooked again yesterday, Savoy Cabbage, onions and bacon to enhance the veggies. The result is that my veggie stew has approx 15% belly pork and the rest is approved veggies with no spuds..... I had a bowl for dinner and tea and topped up at teatime with a half bowl of nut muesli. I have at least one bowl left in the slow cooker and four bowls in the fridge. Cooking will not interfere with Shed for at least three days!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
We had roast loin of pork, apple sauce, new potatoes, brussels & gravy - repeat tonight with cold pork.
Say only a little but say it well.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I had a bowl of the straight stew for dinner. Only a bit left so I extended it and added a deep fried battered cod fillet for tea. Very small bowl of Muesli to top up later on.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
A friend gave us another pheasant on Friday so I shall cook that tonight in a casserole with garlic, onions & red wine accompanied by mustard mash & garden peas - with apple crumble to follow for hubby.

"The peasants are revolting!" Sorry Moh, couldn't resist....
I had a two egg omelette with deep-fried battered cod for dinner and straight pork and veggie for tea.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
"Australia Day" today. Public holiday when it is all about "backyard barbeques" and family, and playing cricket.
We have had "ours" for lunch today, complete with their dog, ( called Max). Didn't have a Barbeque as at least 3 of us don't eat meat..but plenty to eat. The drinks flowed for some ( not us)...and I had fun when the 5 year old offered to help with the 1000 piece jigsaw we had recently started. A few adjustments to bits placed may be needed tomorrow, and I won't forget the kindness of the child's offer to have a suck of the lollipop he had been enjoying at the time ( his exact words being "this is really nice - would you like some?" How sweet?! I explained I didn't like sweet things, so had to decline. He sucked long and hard on the lollipop, then asked if I was like that when I was a kid, or had I changed when I got old. No...I assured him, I had never liked sweet things. He replied by saying the only things he didn't like we're green beans and mushrooms. I felt like we had shared something important...as you do when you are sharing a 1000 piece jigsaw with a short person half a century your junior. In fact, the lad starts his first day of school on Monday. I wish him well.
Febby picked up the dog poo off the lawn after they left, and I must admit I am feeling quite tired now. A lovely day had by all.
( time for a glass of wine I think)

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Sounds like you deserve that glass of wine Maz. We had meatballs in tomato sauce last night, with the usual array of veggies. It's a minimal eating day for me today, so I might just have an avocado, or a plain omelette.
Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
The other thing I found cute, was that his Mum would not allow him a second ice-cream on a stick ( cool with me because Mum's rule as far as I am concerned and we always check with Mum before handing out treats). The lad, knowing he couldn't have another, asked me if I could please open the freezer so he could "just look" at the ice creams we had in there! I obliged him a look. He seemed satisfied. I whispered to him that the contents of my freezer were not likely to change by the time he visits next...)
Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Meat balls here tonight too Wendy.
The pheasant casserole was very good but we decided we prefer it in the cream/wine way. As the shooting season has finished that will be it for this year.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Sounds like a well reared kid Maz. So nice to hear they still exist!
I had fried tomatoes, bacon and two fried eggs for dinner and the last of the pork and veggies for tea. I made a new veggie stew based on a small piece of brisket, two cans of chopped tomatoes, onions, peas and string beans. I have a cabbage to fry with lardons ready to go in. Butcher's day today. Oh, I am just having one apple a day Wendy......

I'm going to make myself a bacon and tomato omelette I reckon, just fancy it.
