As mentioned elsewhere, my most exciting holiday experience was Campylobacter poisoning. Anyway, NOT TONIGHT, tonight we are out for a meal for our 41st Wedding Anniversary.

Congratulations to all of you for simply surviving!
I shall be keeping my mind occupied in the shed trying to avoid thinking about some potentially bad news that has come in this morning..... There's always something!!

Just what you need on a holiday! Hard luck Sue.....

I shall be starting a new phase of my engine. The basic winch is finished now and I have to address the entablature, the drive from the engine and the relative levels. All good absorbing stuff!

Fingers crossed for you Sue.
I have a morning of cooking, washing, writing and an annual eye test. The shed will lose out today!
Later at 08:00. Writing may go by the board but the washing is done and Wendy would have been cheering me on. I put a lump of mutton in the slow cooker last night with the usual suspects and allowed it to cool overnight. This morning I de-boned it and de-fatted it and cut the meat up, then back into the pot with a can of beans. Then I set to and boiled carrots, steaming chopped spinach and kale at the same time. While all this was going on I fried some lardons and chopped cabbage which I put in another pan, seasoned it, added a drop of carrot water and then added the cooked and browned lardons. That is all mixed together now and cooking slowly on the stove. The steamed kale and spinach are in with the meat together with most of the carrots. The remainder of the carrots are in with the cabbage and bacon. All the pans and the Kenwood cleaned and put away! I feel good, a morning of honest endeavour and I am ready for the optician now.The mutton stew tastes great and will do nothing but improve. As I lower the level in the slow cooker I shall add the cabbage and bacon. No cooking for a day or two. Nobody will eat better!

All I can say Sue is that in your place I would be on lemon, honey, whisky and cinnamon..... Good luck with it!
I shall not have any cooking to do and will try to resist the urge to write articles..... Only next week's left on the stock pile though so I really should write!

Well Stanley I am afraid I do not like lemon honey and whiskey so it has to be over the counter cough medicine. The voice is returning slowly but I have been coughing and throwing up with it all night. Every time I lie down I start to choke with catarrh and unfortunately it's the medicine for the dry cough that has given me the catarrh . Now I can't get rid of it.
