Ian, sorry but you evidently don't know about RAC Horsepower ratings (LINK) which were based on cylinder capacity. Besides the use for taxation it was widely used as a quick reference, think Austin 7, Ford 8 Vauxhall 10 and 14. The General Motors 28hp design was 214 Cubic Inch and produced about 106hp. As this was at a lower speed than your engine and a larger capacity it was much higher torque.
Evidently not! Thanks for the explanation. A quick calculation makes the tractor unit just over three times the displacement of my 1100cc V4. No contest on power to weight ratio even though the Pan did weigh quite a bit, (Dry Weight. 297 kg / 654.8 lbs). It had lots of torque via the shaft drive though, (maximum torque of 109.00 Nm (11.1 kgf-m or 80.4 ft. lbs) @ 6000 RPM. Never had to take it to that, at 5,000 rpm, two up and fully loaded panniers and top box it would be cruising at 110mph. Engine red line started at 8,000 that would be just shy of 140mph.
Cant really compare a wagon tractor unit to a motorbike though, although I know which one would win in a speed race. It would be a miserable fail in a tug of war though.
12 watt cob type lamp. I'm not sure whether the vented metal base imparts any extra cooling to the lamp circuitry but its part of the hype.
For those interested in pulling LED bulbs apart this chap is very interesting, (Bigdavedotcom)
