CROASDALE FAMILY INDEX ENTRIES (revised)
The first thing to say is that Croasdale name probably originates in the Croasdale Fell area NW of Slaidburn. The usual lists of surnames suggest it is a corruption of Crossdale which may well be true.

The mill was insured with the Royal Exchange Fire Office in 1793. This mill still stands and has what is probably the biggest indoor water wheel in the country.
