18/04/1934
An application was received via Mr Ellison from E C Hulme and Co. for space for 70 looms at Wellhouse Mill. Rent to be 70/- per annum less 5% for prompt cash payment. Rent on running looms only with a minimum of half the loom number. 2/6 rent on stopped looms to pay the rates. Looms to be provided by CGSC at no charge for twelve months. Rent payable from when warps were put in but only half rent for the first twelve months. CHSC to exchange plain looms from Wellhouse for cross rod looms from Throstle Nest Mill, Nelson on the basis of three plain for two cross rod looms. Tenancy subject to three months notice from the 1st of any month.

16/05/1934
E C Hulme and Co. have taken possession of their portion of Wellhouse Mill and will start as soon as possible. Twelve circular box looms to be bought from Throstle Nest Mill at £4-10-0 each.

30/06/1934
Balance sheet records Wellhouse as an asset of the CHSC at £27,992-9-7. (same entry in succeeding balance sheets to 1937, no search beyond that at this time)

10/04/1935
E C Hulme complain of cramped conditions. The directors agree to give more space but E C Hulme to move the looms.

18/09/1935
E C Hulme object to rent of 3d per loom (per month?) and ask at what price they can be bought. Response from CHSC directors was 12X40” circular box looms at £6 each, 36X40” cross rods at £6-10-0 if fitted with dobby tops and £4 if not.

23/12/1936.
E C Hulme complain about lack of shed heating.

17/02/1938
Notice received from E C Hulme to cease tenancy at Wellhouse on 30/04 1938.
