BOOCOCK INDEX ENTRIES AS OF 20 October 2007

1871 census
Anne Boocock, 59 years, Barnoldswick Lane, cotton winder. Son James, 33, weaver.

1892
Boocock’s were tenants in Long Ing Shed.

1897
Accepted as tenants in place of Wm. Brooks at Wellhouse Mill. 1898, asked for reduction in rent. Still tenants at WH in 1900. Fire in their tape room at WH in January 1901. 1902 gave notice of intention to move from Wellhouse Mill to Long Ing Shed. Gave six months notice for move to Long Ing in February 1903.

1902
Barrett’s directory notes Boocock Brothers as cotton manufacturers at Wellhouse. Tel no 01090. Same directory notes Thomas Boocock as hardware dealer on Rainhall Road.

1908
Evidence posted by Shane on OGFB 05/03/05. ‘My father Edwin Boocock was born in 1908 and reared in Earby as was his father John Boocock, his Grandfather John Casson Boocock and his great grandfather William Bulcock. Edwin Boocock married twice and the second time was to Olive Perry in 1974.’

1911/12.
Worrall’s Directory notes Boocock Brothers having 396 looms in Long Ing Shed. No entry for 1915/16.
