In Warner’s History of Barnoldswick, page 38. Richard Laycocke of Barnoldswick is mentioned as yeoman of Barlick and tenants of the Queen in connection with an action over water rights on the Black Brook (now County Brook). This is the dispute between Tenants of Foulridge and tenants of Barnoldswick in the Duchy of Lancaster Court in 1581.
