MOSLEY INDEX ENTRIES AS OF 03 July 2008

1841/1881/1891 census.
One entry in the 1841 census for William Mosley aged 10 in Thornton. This could be Thornton itself or Barlick or Earby.

1919
LTP. 78/AG/07, page 15. Newton talks about the installation of the secondhand Hick Hargreaves steam engine at New Coates Mill. He says that two of Henry Brown’s men, Leonard Parkinson and Jimmy Mosley went over to Bolton and dismantled the engine and loaded it onto canal bots for transportation to Barlick. In 1939 the same Jimmy Mosley was one of the men who helped Newton to replace the crossed rope drive at Narrowgates mill Barley with a countershaft.

c.1910
Mosley Street in Barlick built by Jim Shaw, a local builder.
