I think I suggested some time ago , Genetics is one, in both the virus lock ons and the chromosone proteins and what makes "brain flow function" efficient or blocked. Some could be immune system wrong , so is attacking either cells, or something that the cells use to function after getting mis programmed or over excited following a virus attack. another might be whatever cells - mental ones or otherwise need to build their strength has ceased to work or the "food" is not available or synthesised correctly. The obvious one thinks about some kind of "clogging" as that is what it feels like but it is probably more complex than that.Sue wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025, 09:16 Having had post viral fatigue syndrome ie ME in the 1980 s this is history repeating itself and despite endless research they are still not sure what causes it or indeed a cure. I think the research is going on out there but the answers are difficult to find. One question is why do some viruses cause this so violently and others do not. The similarity between long covid and ME has been recognised and as I understand it there is co operation between the teams in the research areas . Just because we don’t hear about the research is does not mean it isn’t going on

Yes I agree about the genetics. Its certainly a complex issue that years ago I looked into in detail. These days I have lost the thread a bit and its nice to be reminded of the complex issues. Thank youWhyperion wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025, 09:30I think I suggested some time ago , Genetics is one, in both the virus lock ons and the chromosone proteins and what makes "brain flow function" efficient or blocked. Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
BBC Was showing last night some reminders about people who had died from Covid, one I think was a nurse with a young family. I think I wrote about a article I read in a paper of a mid-50s truck driver that got Covid at the end of 2020. To me I dont know if hospital treatments were correct or effective even after what had been learned over the year, with the use of some asthma treatements can be useful, and also it was difficult to work out what was virus caused and what was any secondary bacteria ("pneumonia") infections. I said before it was a strange virus , (and viruses are strange - when even "mild" primary infections give rise to these long-covid problems being noted). Will it take three generations and a century to get over this

I was impressed once more by how quick and efficient the NHS website was. If only all government IT was as good!
