No lightening but heavy rain here in Northumberland about 4.00 am. Its just misty now and a lot warmer than was forecast
Hopefully there's no more lightning today or they won't let them in the water, they're in Windermere for the Great North Swim https://www.greatswim.org/

Oh, Julia usually does that but she has a bad knee at the moment so is not swimming distance. Instead she and Eve are in the Cotswolds where Eve is doing an open water swim

This morning I measured and marked the stud positions on the lid and drilled them clearance size for 4BA studs. Then I measured and marked for the tapped entry for the steam pipe. That is drilled and threaded. I'm multi-tasking this morning, doing a load of washing at the same time as shed duties. That's dealt with, now the task is find breakfast.

Morning

We had a rather damp cool day yesterday, with a mist or rain shower hanging over us all day. We still had a good one though as we drove just a few miles to Heatherslaw, and went on the small railway to Etal. There we investigated the village and the ruined castle ( part of the Flodden estate in 1513)and had lunch in the old pub, dating back to the 1500s. Last visit we went to the site of the battle of Flodden. We then went back on the railway and did a 4 mile walk to the village of Ford. Our feet were soaked through our lightweight walking boots as we we were walking through long wet grass most of the time

Today promises to be better, the sun is shining though it is very windy. This morning will be relaxed before we drive to Framlington where we are having Sunday lunch at a pub . We have yet to plan the afternoon. Have a good day all

Morning Sue! Walking though wet grass is a killer isn't it. The only thing I know that can be relied on to keep your feet dry is Wellingtons!
I had to look Flodden Field up as I know nothing about that period of history. So you are talking about places I have never been to, few and far between in Britain. It sounds like an interesting day. I hope you have as good an experience today.
I shall be cooking Veggies!
