TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
We’ve just walked into Longridge, the wind is quite bitter and getting strong. Glad to be back to a cup of coffee.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Here in Barlick the wind is gusting up to almost 60mph and heavy rain is imminent. It's going to be nasty until after 20:00.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon the rain came in after 16:00 accompanied by the strongest winds of the day. By midnight the wind had brought the temperature down below freezing and the rain continued, partially as sleet. This is what we have now, heavy overcast, strong wind gusting and below freezing temperature giving us sleet showers. The glass is down on 987mb and still tending to fall. The forecast is for these sleet showers to stop but re-commence around 07:00 and stay with us for the rest of the day even if the cloud breaks later and gives us sunny spells. The constant WSW wind gusts to over 40mph and doesn't abate until this evening. We can expect a high of 6C and a low tonight of 0C with a -6C wind chill for much of the day. The perceived temperature will be below freezing all day. Tomorrow sees an increase in temperature and brighter weather. This improvement continues all week even though we may have some showers at times.

Been out for a walk, just the odd spit of rain, but nothing to wet us. Very windy and a tad nippy.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon started with sunny spells but then settled into continuous rain. The rain quietly ceased during the night and this morning it's partly overcast but dry with a cold breeze. The glass is showing 995mb and tending to rise. The forecast is for a dry day with plenty of sunny spells. The westerly winds are moderate and constant and we can expect a high of 8C and a low of 2C tonight with a wind chill of -3C and occasionally -4C. Expect two more days similar to today and then the outlook is warmer and dry.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday we had a very acceptable afternoon with lots of sun. We had a dry, overcast night with a bit of breeze. This morning we have broken overcast, dry and a gentle breeze. The glass has risen to 1005mb and the forecast is for overcast and light rain until early afternoon when the overcast will become broken and we might get sunny spells. The moderate south westerly winds will gradually strengthen until they are gusting to 40mph this afternoon. We can expect a high of 9C and a low of 2C tonight with a wind chill of -4c all day, occasionally rising to -5C. Tomorrow will be overcast and wet, similar temperature to today. After that the week is dry brighter and warmer with temperatures in double figures.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was overcast and we had frequent light showers. This was the story for most of the night but at the moment it isn't raining. We are overcast, fry and breezy. The glass is steady on 1004mb and the forecast is for the early part of the day to be broken cloud, showers and sunny spells but from noon onwards heavy overcast and significant rain. The westerly winds will be brisk and gust to almost 35mph. We can expect a high of 9C a low tonight of 7C and a wind chill of -5C for much of the day. Tomorrow will be heavy overcast but dry and warmer. The rest of the week will be brighter, sunny spells and temperatures in double figures.
