Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon lived up to what the forecast promised. It was a sunny, mild afternoon with late sun right up to nightfall and then a quiet dry night with broken cloud overcast. Now we have a clear mild night with a light breeze. The glass is steady on 1020mb and the forecast is for clear skies and full sun later, another gift of a day. The light winds will be easterly until late morning when they will back into the west for the rest of the day. We can expect a high of 19C and a low tonight of 8C with a light wind chill that will never be more than -2C. The rest of the week will be slightly cooler, more cloudy but still mainly dry. Very acceptable weather!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
London and the South East mini heatwave continues up to about 26deg C . not the highest April ever ( 29.4 in 1941 ) but enough to cause non aircon buses to be uncomfortable and a rapid rise in temps on the tube made travelling with any kind of numbers of passengers uncomfortable and one broke down due to communication problems. A Bus service like London is often held as some kind of perfected mantra but today grumbling sounds from at least semi diesel powered vehicles was not a great advert and the electric ones whined and made electriky smells too. After sundown the cool evening did not arrive and it has been warm outside more like late summer. A cold front by sometime Friday will bring things back to 13 but Thurs expected to be warm 23deg.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was Spring-like and the wind chill was less noticeable than expected. We have had a very mild overcast dry night. At the moment we are calm, mild and dry under broken cloud. The glass is steady on 1018mb and the forecast is for an overcast day with showers around midday and sunny intervals later in the afternoon. The mainly SW winds start light but gradually increase to brisk this afternoon gusting to 40mph. We can expect a high of 12C and a low of 2C tonight with a wind chill that starts at -2C but by this evening could be -5C after the winds pick up. The outlook is for bright weather with similar temperatures to today and possibly a couple of colder nights.....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday the forecast mentioned isolated showers around midday but what actually happened was a continual damping all day, not really rain but never dry. It was like that for most of the night. This morning it's trying to be dry under broken overcast and we have a steady breeze. The glass fell yesterday but has started rising again and is on 1016mb and still rising. The forecast is for a dry day with light overcast and sunny intervals later. The West wind is moderate and gusting to over 30mph at the moment but it will ease as the day progresses and become SE later this afternoon. We can expect early frost and then a high of 10C and a low of 4C tonight. The wind chill at the moment is -5C but that will drop slowly as the wind moderates and this afternoon will be -2C. The outlook is fgor an overcast rainy day tomorrow and then a brighter week with temperatures rising steadily....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Light cloud, no breeze and a sun trying to get through. Just a bit nippy, there may have been a light frost, certainly feels like it.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon ended up overcast and windy. We had a dry night up to midnight but now we have heavy overcast, a breeze and the occasional spot of rain on the wind. The glass has fallen to 1004mb and the forecast is for a wet windy spell until mid-morning and then a shift to brighter weather with sunny intervals and a renewed stiff breeze. The southerly winds will be brisk all day gusting to 40mph at times. We can expect a high of 10C and a low tonight of 5C with a wind chill of -5C at the moment and then -4C all day. The outlook is for drier, warmer , brighter weather for the rest of the week.....
